Titanic Medal to be auctioned on 1st August.
A fascinating archive of Bernard Leach letters was sold by Lawrences Auctioneers last week.
Consigned for sale by his adopted son Maurice Leach, the letters were written by Bernard to his second wife Laurie in 1934-1935 whilst spending a year in Japan.
The Gary & Joyce Rice Collection
The Titanic set sail from Southampton at 12pm on 10th April 1912, and via Cherbourg, France, and Queenstown, Ireland, was due to arrive in New York on 17 April. 400 miles off the Newfoundland coast, at 11.40pm (ship's time), the Titanic hit an iceberg, four days into her journey. Two hours and forty minutes later the ship had sunk with over half of her passengers and crew still aboard.

Coming up at Vectis Auctions on the 10th of July are 76 lots from The Gary & Joyce Rice Collection. The sale contains many sports, TV & Film personalities, plus comedians, entertainers, soap stars and stars from musical theatre including Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minelli, and Charlton Heston, plus Bruce Forsyth, The Goodies and the Fawlty Towers cast; and many photographs and postcards from actors and actresses from Hollywood’s 'Golden Era'.
