From Modernist Refrectory to Mansion
So Last Century Vintage and Retro Fair will be kicking-off 2019 with their first ever full weekend event on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February at the magnificent St Dunstan’s College in south-east London.
On each day there will be more than 55 hand-picked vintage dealers filling the large 1960s Modernist Refectory with its striking paraboloid roof and the equally spacious Victorian Great Hall.
You can expect to find a broad mix of affordable mid-20th century décor, from lighting, furniture and Mid-century ceramics, to illustrations, prints and gorgeous travel posters alongside vintage fashion, accessories and jewellery.
Outside there’ll be delicious street food served from vintage vans, whilst inside the tearoom will be serving delicious cakes alongside a cocktail shop selling an amazing variety of bottled cocktails, accompanied by live music. With two days to choose from, there’s no reason to miss this great fair!
Getting things warmed up for Spring, So Last Century will be popping up again on Sunday 10th March, this time at Beckenham Place Mansion, a beautiful, unrestored, Georgian house set in stunning parkland in south-east London.
In the old Atrium, Drawing Room and Dining Room there will be an selection of 20 top-quality traders selling Mid-century homewares, lighting, posters, brocante, and clothing, set against the faded but ornate Robert Adam plasterwork!
Several artists have taken up residence on the upper floor and you’ll be able to meet them in their studios and see their inspiring work, some of which will be available to buy. Added to the fact that the Mansion also has a record shop, sewing school, visitor centre, cafe and outdoor bar - why wouldn’t you put this one in your diary?
