Mayfly Vintage are Flying

Starting off as an online shop in 2014, Mayfly Vintage quickly blossomed into a business selling not only locally, but also globally, with its range of industrial lights, rustic furniture and decorative pieces.

With a name inspired by the mayflies that appear each year over the famous River Test chalk stream in Hampshire, and run by husband and wife James and Helen Hanson, who opened their first showroom in 2017, on a picturesque farm on the outskirts of Winchester.

Their showroom is a 3,000 sq.ft barn with two floors full of vintage and industrial pieces from machinist lamps to old school maps, which they source across the UK and Europe. Collecting pieces is their passion and they want to share what they find, as they only stock items they would have in their own home - an eclectic mix of farmhouse vintage, industrial, French and country house chic.

The majority of their pieces are one-off items, which is why they end up all over the world as part of residential projects and restorations, commercially for cafes and restaurants and also props for theatres and films. You can shop online or drop in to this beautiful part of the country for a nosey around the Aladdin’s Cave, which is open Wednesday through til Saturday.
