Job for the Boys

UK-DK furniture wholesalers specialise in an ever-evolving range of original late twentieth century Danish furniture and lighting, with the elegance of design and quality of construction for which the Scandinavians became famous in the decades after the second world war.

Their motley team is led by ‘Sideboard Pete’, whose expertise of Mid-century Modern furniture has developed over 20 years of importing Danish furniture and building relationships with trade customers in the UK and Denmark – hence the name!

If you plan on paying them a visit, you’ll arrive at Red House Farm where you give Pete a ring who will guide you down a series of long farm roads, which are actually better maintained than the roads leading from the A14 to the warehouses near Stowmarket in Suffolk! Here you’ll find two warehouses packed with furniture, the other warehouse and workshop is just 40 minutes away in Foxhall, but it’s worth the drive! This one includes a large collection of lighting and teak furniture which is being adapted with the addition of turned teak legs for the modern market.

How it works is, a packed articulated lorry arrives from Denmark every couple of months, with the stock viewable on the website within a couple of weeks. Their Instagram feed is the best place to keep abreast of deliveries and developments as well as the passing of the seasons in rural East Anglia!

There is always a huge selection of sofas and lounge chairs in stock, and particularly popular at the moment are the stacking chairs in steel and teak from Danish civic halls, and the more vintage style banana sofas.

Their vans go to London on a weekly basis and delivery can be arranged anyway in the UK. Due to their regular shipments, UK-DK can also offer a shipping service from Denmark. All in all. They’re a good bunch of fellas to know!
