Get into the Vintage groove on Father’s Day weekend with two great events held in the grounds of the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu.
VW owners are invited to drive into Beaulieu on Saturday 16th June and park up within the museum complex for Simply VW. From modern marvels such as the VW Golf GTI to classics such as the split-screen VW Campervan or the original VW Beetle, all are welcome. It’s set to provide a great opportunity to admire some cult vehicles and to connect with fellow VW fans.
Then, at the Hot Rod & Custom Drive-In Day on 17th June more than 500 hot rods and customised vehicles will put on a vibrant display, from smooth cruisers to mega-powered flame-spitting rat rods. Across both days, Vintage Village run by Bows and Braces, will be packed with nostalgic collectables, records, jewellery, luggage, kitchenware and retro clothing from the 1920s to the 1980s. At both shows, why not put on your glad rags as there are prizes to be won for the Best Dressed individuals, families or groups and camper van. To get the perfect hair do visit Paula’s Vintage Parlour, who can offer a range of glamorous styles from the 1920s to 1960s.
Enjoy live music including Company B-UK performing 1940s swing numbers, while Mariachi El Mexicano give rousing performances as they roam around the attraction. Then take to the dance floor with Jitterbug Jive, as the Bournemouth Lindy Hop Club puts you through your paces.
