There's something rather capricious happening with the antiques business at the moment. Whispers at fairs and comments coming up in discussion, suggest that this isn’t just the usual seasonal lull, but perhaps a sign that things are changing... The same conversation has come up many times over recent months, so I thought I’d use this platform to give you all a motivational speech of sorts. Antique dealers have never really ‘had it easy’, and I’d like to think that our latest hiatus, is just the calm before a busy, rejuvenating storm. Perhaps we should all just sit back with a beer and enjoy the sunshine! Unless flat pack furniture has suddenly become ‘cool’ and a good investment; in which case, we’re all up the creek! Either way, let’s do what all antiques dealers do best... ride it out!
